Born and raised in Basel, of Swiss and Turkish heritage, he still calls the city his base while living between Basel and Berlin. Since his breakthrough EP Mechanical Turk was released on Glasgow’s Huntleys + Palmers in 2014, his work has been driven by questions about the fluidity of his own post-migrant identity.

He has explored these questions through production, live performance, DJing and graphic design, leading to his debut album The Sun Is Parallel (2022) on Basel’s Planisphere Editorial and Auguri (2024), an ambient-folk exploration of migration, displacement and climate change. The albums feature contributions from Italian percussionist and composer Valentina Magaletti, Spanish composer Niño de Elche, drummer Alican Tezer and guitarist Daniel Pankau.

Digging into his home country’s musical past, he compiled Senza Decoro: Liebe + Anarchia / Switzerland 1980–1990 for Strut, a collection of Swiss new wave and post-punk rarities.

As a DJ, he has held residencies at Basel’s Hinterhof and Berlin’s Renate, and hosts a monthly radio show on Refuge Worldwide. His work has been supported by Pro Helvetia, Fondation SUISA and Swiss Music Export, and he is currently expanding his practice through international collaborations, most recently in Calabria and Nairobi.
